Just finsihed this book. Was really interesting to start but became very dour and depressing for the last third. Never realised how high casualties were as they advanced across France and into Germany. Almost got to the point of stopping reading the book as it was unsettling me so much.

Anyone else read it?

I'm still struggling to get ythrough the Red star against the swastika.

interesting in parts, but not exactly enthralling overall.

Spits over Malta was like that for me....incredibly detailed but hardly bedtime stories.
