Two interesting articles.

One on flying the Sea Fury. Quote: "The Sea Fury is prone to nosing over and even when cautiously testing the brakes as you leave the chocks you get the sensation that she is eager to tip forward." Sounds familiar!

Another on flying the Seafire. Blimming amazing this one - the pilot (an RNAS student at the time) gets out of sorts and ends up in an inverted dive, which he recovers from, still inverted, by pushing the stick with his feet. When he lands he discovers wheat stuck in the fin (that's how low his inverted dive got!!!!) Quote: "There is nothing inherently dangerous about flying upsidedown, or a steep dive, or exceeding 450 knots, or getting quite close to the ground. . . or even of not being too sure what your ailerons might do next, however, put all these factors together and a different conclusion quickly emerges."
