Monkeeees....Not just for breakfast...
Re: DCS
First trip lasted about 3 minutes, low flying, engine stopped for some reason, pressed G for gear, bounced once, smashed into the ground and died...
Second flight was better, lasted about 20 minutes, managed to almost land, bounced smashed the gear off on one side, span down the runway, burst into flames and bailed....
Any landing you can walk away from and all that...

Re: DCS
There's some new multi-crew planes coming out, with fully functioning cockpits and instruments, including the F14 Tomcat.
TALK TO ME GOOSE!
There's also the Spit IX and P47D.

Re: DCS
F/A18, wonder if you can fly inverted under the bridge like in FA18 Interceptor
Re: DCS
Downloaded this and the A4 community mod, pretty good tbh, proper planes are damned expensive though...
Re: DCS
So, now I have a new monitor, the missus bought me a HOTAS, x56, for my birthday, which is lucky really as I was looking at the WinWing setup which would have cost me a grand or there about..
Bought the Flamming Cliffs pack to start with so I have an F15C, A10 and some others, then it also gives access to some free mods that use the same textures and other things from the FC pack.
I'm currently tweaking my HOTAS but have managed to get several BVR kills and even some gun ones against live AI targets in some of the training missions.
Bought a better webcam as well and use OpenTrack for head tracking, its not perfect but its good enough, and better than me doing my normal thing and just buying something flashy to try and then it sitting in a box..

Re: DCS
Theres now a 2024 update to Flaming Cliffs, more planes to crash...
The original Flaming Cliffs gives you the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, J-11, Su-33, Su-25, MiG-29, and MiG-29S.
2024 update gives you the F-5E, F-86F and MiG-15bis as additional, which, if it follows the same as the original will also mean that 3rd party modders will have more bits to base new planes on as DCS does have a pretty decent amount of free planes you can download and have a play with...
