Besides, ...then its time to drop that ram (try 333 for day one), drop the HTT to 3x (can go back to 4x later) and up that bus speed from 200 to 240.

Then you'll be running 2.4 ghz cpu :) at vanilla cpu volts, and the ram will be back at 400 (20% increase just like the cpu)

My money is it goes alot higher than that, especially with your cooler (superb value that thing)

Dont forget, Dakky's does 2.5 on a stock cooler, no effort. He also forgot to drop his ram from 333 to 266, but it's fine so his ram is now overclocked too.

I'm still installing stuff, but real life keeps getting in the way, plus all the searching for those little apps I like.....

You know we talked about mobo monitors, theres one bundled with the ATI tray tools did ya know...

OK,

BF2 looks lovely, IL2 runs so smooth I now notice that the JS needs more filtering.

Dropped the DRAM clock to 333,
Changed the HT Frequency to 3x (from Auto, this the same as the HTT?)
Upped the bus to 240.

CPU now running at 2.4Ghz
RAM still at 400.

Temps are still around the 30 degs.
Pifast now comes in at 51ish on all four attempts

I've installed Sandra lite, lots of info. no idea what most of it is though :D

ignore Pifast for a while.

Lets get some IL-2 frame rates.

In the Omega drivers, under OPen GL, make sure V Sync is OFF.

Then run the Black Death track, (with water =1 and trees (or is it forest)=1)

Then when it starts, hit the Shift button and the TAb button.

At this command line type fps START SHOW

thats lower case fps and upper case START SHOW

then Shift and Tab again

Let it run for 2 entire runs and give us the average fps.

maybe it's the HTT. At 240 you can run that at 4x, as it's will being your total to 240x4=960, which is close to it's vanilla 200x5.

That might nail Pifast again.

Without changing the HT freq to 4,

I get av fps of 46 max 74.
Lowest it goes it at the point when the two planes collide over the airfield, gets down to 21 fps there.
