A few changes

Post by MA_Clingy »

While we are getting some other maps ready I have...

Removed battleships, made carrier "rookie", destroyers "average", reduced all rate of fire by 50%, removed all but one outlying ships, changed objective to just one ship (plus one other objective).

Thinking of adding some more ground targets.

I'm going to have a dabble at making my own maps in the near future (i.e. in 5mins :p) but I have a lot to learn about it yet.

I noticed earlier, luke sank the destroyer that accompanies the Jap carrier with just one torp, this set the ship objective to complete. Is there a way to adjust the setting, so say if a large ship which needs 2 or 3 torps is sunk, it wins first time, but you need to sink 2 or 3 one torp ships instead to achieve same goal?

EDIT:

And here she is, my first FMB mission.. ligtly based on events from D-Day, with some 'poetic license'. :)

As I say, it's my first FMB session, so go easy on the criticism (read: slagging off :p)

A brief description:

Allied forces are landing on the beach. Red team (Allied) are carrier based. Their mission is to protect the landing craft and to help clear any ground obstacles, such as bunkers and armor (which there is lots of!)

Germans are to defend the bunkers and armor from allied forces, both airborne and landing craft.

Their are two carriers for allies to take off from, both are protected by a BS and 2 Destroyers each.

The only bomber class aircraft in the mission is the JU-88 variants, trying to get the emphasis from bombing/torping the carriers to protecting the bunkers and armor :)

Nice one m8. I'll have a look see when dark. The mission software is called FBDaemon. I am afraid the Greatergreen site is down at the moment, but I'll post a link when it is up. Basically you can set objectives to destroy a number of different classes

Planes
Pilots
Cars (incl Trucks)
Wagons (Trains)
Ships
Artillery (incl AAA)
Tanks

so you can say 60 planes, 50 pilots, 15 cards, 10 wagons, 1 ships, 8 Artillery and 10 tanks. Then you can say how many of these objectives it takes to WIN and restart the map or move on to another map. Usually just 1 but we have it set at 2 objectives.
